Friday, December 21, 2007 making-sweetness

ok...fine. maybe my hair's not THAT bad. i've given up attempting to convince people that it sucks. random statement. shall continue updating about yf camp before i forget. i stopped on tues i think....

Weds: came back to find a wonderful letter from my shepherd was written on coffee paper. ie, paper that was soaked in coffee and left to dry before things were written on it. haha....i like coffee but this is still weird. clarissa got a 'coffee paper' too! turns out that our shepherds were good friends who made the paper together. just found that amusing.

another thought-provoking main message and video sermon. then discussion. SOOOOOOOOOOO RELIEVED. coz my group members started talking and sharing....not so many awkward silences. but we kind of dragged a bit, ate into lunchtime. (bad pun....don't remind me...) waited veryveryveryvery long for the bus to come and bring us to the children's home coz the bus went to the wrong place (apparantly...) talked to mag for that same period of time.

THE KIDS THERE ARE SOOOOO CUTE! (i'm not being paedophilish ok!) but it's kinda sad that they come from pretty bad family backgrounds and stuff. we presented a song item and played this bingo game to mix around with the kids. kena bullied by my 'junior', he keep coming up to me and ask me to sign for him though he's suppose to ask the kids in the home. -_-'' suppose to make this 3D wooden model thingy with the kids after that. makes me really grateful that i didn't have to take D&T in secondary school coz i would have FAILED MISERABLY. suppose to help this small girl out as she makes it, but ended up asking all sorts of random people to help coz 1. i really have ZERO experience with this thingy. 2. i'm not really interested in this kinda things. 3. SHE wasn't that interested in it either (she told me that she was dying for an afternoon nap, so she gladly let me take over). hahaha...both of us are quite alike in this way.

i think this thing against making wooden models runs in family. my sis said she was hopeless at it too. (hi-5 joanne! i know you're gonna read this anyway....)

went back to church to wash up and have dinner. then was the looooooong night message which i amazingly didn't fall asleep for. luckily i stayed awake, or else wouldn't have learnt so much things.

Thurs: good main message by rev heng and evangelism workshop by rev jack sin. no discussion though....(phew) coz the message was too long. BUT it was very useful and insightful. =) went out to buy music book (stupid mozart sonata..) in the afternoon so missed the outing. SIAN LAH. PEOPLE GO AND PLAY GAMES, I GO HOME PLAY PIANO.

came back at night for night message. 1st person i met was hongrui and the 1st thing he called me was bookworm. -_-'' that evolved into MUGGER (-___-) despite my protests. i'm not mugger. i'm not mugger. i'm not mugger. NEVERMIND. helped my group with a bit of kitchen duty. last night message. not bad...didn't fall asleep. phew. found the last part about Israel going back to their old ways barely 12 years after the revival kinda sad. such a pity...

Fri: officially my last day of camp. mag didn't come. =( i sound like i'm repeating myself, but the main message and evangelism workshop were really very good, even if it kinda overshot the time so no discussion. rededicated myself to God. about time too. nice nice lunch of spagetti after that. =)

games in the afternoon. very very fun! first was the adaptation of 老鹰捉小鸡, quite fun seeing the sisters fighting it out (obviously not me and my sis lah. this pair of sisters more sporty one...) next was the adaptation of the caterpillar game. collected as much water as we could without resorting to storing water in our mouths (unlike some other group) then was a time-filler game. last was the very tyco human mastermind. more like 'decipher tim loh's mind' (tim loh is the game master) guessed correctly in 2 tries in an uber tyco way. got all wet in the last game, which is trying to fill a holey pipe with water to get the balls in the pipe. not as easy as it sounds coz the pipe is about my height, fatter than me and some of the holes are almost palm-size. managed to do it in the end as a group, but was still soaking wet. luckily brought an extra change of clothes and could borrow soap and stuff from someone else.

nice nice dinner! lurved the mango pudding, aglio olio, baked rice and potato wedges! imba nice.=) the rest of the people were 'bullying' wx, asking her those IQ question thingys and tricking her. poor thing. coz she kept falling for them. sharing time after this.=) really glad that people have learnt alot from camp. also found out my shepherd was tim foong. haha....clarissa's was jasper, aka the coffee man. video show of the camp stuff after sharing was chao funny=). too bad couldn't stay over that night, coz it's no-lights-out night, ie the night where people go mad, don't sleep and do crazy stuff.

very long liao. shall update about my week another time. going for carolling later, the 2nd day of 5 consecutive days i have to sing. *crosses fingers and hopes sore throat doesn't get worse..*
