argh....it's at times like these that i won't mind being a guy! i know exactly what i would wear if i were a guy: an iconic t-shirt, dark jeans (pref v dark blue or black), a cool chunky belt, a vest and sneakers. OH and a FEDORA! yes....copied off jj lin's new look sans that AWFUL checked print that he spams.

UNFORTUNATELY, i'm a girl. a girl with a MASSIVE headache after looking at WAY too many dresses of totally different designs. i'm not even sure if i look better in a light or dark colour. i know what i DON'T want, but not what i want....which is driving me nuts.

oh...forgot to warn everyone that this post is all BIMBO-TALK. frivolous to the core.

anyway, i've been out and about for 2 days (ok...technically 3days) and i've spent more on my stomach than anything else. HELP. first it was to bugis with suat, wenyan, veron and jolyn on friday. erm...the only good thing that came out of it was that i found where to find ALOT of clip-ons (earrings, i mean...).

today, went walking about with suat, adrian and jianan in orchard. only spent my money on dingtaifung and nothing else...hahaha. saw lotsa other people fretting over their dresses. did go into that dfs thingy opposite far east and i'm proud to announce that i can't afford ANYTHING there. how would i know that it was FULL of branded stuff, like marc jacobs, lv, hugo boss, gucci, prada, etc....hahahahha. didn't even dare to touch it lor! no point....also cannot buy. hahahhaa. spent the rest of the day walking round far east with suat, trying this, staring at my fat butt in the mirror, trying that, staring at my fat stomach in the mirror, so on so forth....

one word: PATHETIC.

still, ever the optimist, i'm going there with gerielle and ahdian tomorrow. my mum doubts my taste though, so she INSISTS on me not buying anything till she goes shopping with me on friday.

great....more walking. it could work off that fat accumulated on my enormous arse and thunder thighs tho...yay. (reeks of sarcasm...)

making-sweetness THE EXHILARATION OF LIBERATION!!!!
Thursday, November 20, 2008 making-sweetness Back to the top

''You may now le.....'' The rest of the words were drowned out by the cacophony of noise that filled the whole hall. Screams and squeals, the loud screeching of the chair against the hard floor, crushing of now-useless paper, congratulatory pats on the back, the punching of fists into the cool air, vulgar exclamations,...

Pandemonium. Chaos. An explosion of sound replacing that pin-drop silence.

None could hear how the sentence ended, yet all knew what it meant--

the sound of freedom.

------------------------------

hahahah...a feeble attempt at inserting some 'class' into my blog. was never any good at literature anyway (think roller-coaster rides...), though i enjoy incorporating some literary devices into what i write and love reading prose which has loads of imagery and allusions...

oh well..who cares! 'A's ARE OVER MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! bio paper 3 and 1 were all ok, GAZILLION TIMES BETTER THAN PAPER 2! thank God for seeing me through everything, i just can't thank Him enough....

at long long last....i can burn my notes (if my mum doesn't stop me and ask me to save them for my sis), read my neil gaiman book (borrowed from the library and half-read), go to the bookshop and browse at the books, go shopping, go k, go this, go that.....

ahhhhhhh...the joys of being too free and at a lost about what to do. even rotting at home sounds like an appealing activity!

anyways, went window shopping with the class girls today!!!! since we ended at 9.30, we hung out near the classbench writing notes for the teachers, delivered it to their 'doorstep' (more like desk in the staffroom) and fly to orchard like a flock of migratory birds! hahahahahha

couldn't decide what movie to watch--they ALL suck. HSM3 is sooo cheesy and retarded, plus that rich girl is super annoying and zac efron is such a jock! WINX club makes me wince in excruciating pain at the thought of having to watch it. the reviews for madagascar were not really good and that bond movie has daniel craig in it. no one in their right mind would want to watch a talking movie on iraq even with leonardo dicaprio in it, while those who can hear cute little doggies talk can't be in their right mind. the rest were a hobnob of sucky films, so we contented ourselves with staring at the twilight movie posters. SAD.

nevermind....after replenishing our energy at sakae in wheelock (yummy tempura udon!), we went shopping! =) burnt abit of calories traversing down orchard! hahahahaha....from wheelock to round and round taka. popped by at some bookstores along the way....where i entertained myself suitably with ''the diary of a wimpy boy'' (chao cute kids book....), resisted snatching that new neil gaiman book ('the graveyard's son' or something like that...) and smuggling it home, as well as succumb to the temptation of reading a short story from another neil gailman book. ahhhh....just love his dark twists and wild imaginations as he conjures up the most AMAZING fantasy books! wish he would relax a little bit on those *ahem* portions though....it makes me a little squeamish at times...

BUT the main aim was still to find THE prom dress. i think i want a babydoll kinda dress, preferably in a dark colour and hopefully below 100bucks. anything that can hide my fat arse that just grew in volume after sitting down too often to mug during the past few weeks. the nice one i saw at zara with the really good fabric was 198 bucks, TOTALLY priced out of my reach. the only other good thing is that i'm so short that dresses which look obscenely slutty on others (read: TALLER people) would look perfect on me! hahaha...self-deprecating humour.

soooooooooo..the search continues tomorrow! going out with the class girls to bugis! =) hahaha...going shopping wif ahdian and gerielle next thursday too! wheeeeeeeeeeee!

making-sweetness a procrastinator's procrastinations...
Sunday, November 16, 2008 making-sweetness Back to the top

if there's one word i want to erase from the english language, it must be the word APPLY. i absolutely DETEST that word and all it's derivatives, be it the noun, verb, past/present/future tense, singular or plural form, etc. that word just has such BAD BAD BAD connotations.

hahahha....it's partially coz the bio APPLICATIONS syllabus paper is tomorrow, partially coz i have to fill in a couple more APPLICATION forms and partially coz i have to finish my due-by-tomorrow essay to APPLY for this stupid course.

i shall blot it out from the dictionary one fine day-- it only brings painful memories to me. urgh...so does this whole As ordeal. i would liken it to the slow and painful process of torturing spies in the medival time with weird pain-inflicting contraptions (like some finger-clamping device that i saw on discovery or something...) to milk all the information out of them.

at least it's bio3bio1 then FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! until that day....JANE WILL PERSEVERE ON!

okok....enough time-wasting and back to that horrible essay

making-sweetness 2 more 2 go!!!!!
Friday, November 14, 2008 making-sweetness Back to the top

ooooooooo...that means that i've survived about 83.33333333333% of this torture, with 16.6666666666666666666667% more to go! woots! major accomplishment! but i can totally visualise some lucky souls in church celebrating the end of As coz all their papers are over.....haiz. BIO AH BIO.....terrible subject.

and Os are over too, so my sis can gloat at me (though she's currently bored to tears now and rotting at home. hahahah).

ANYWAYSSSS...the mandatory recap. actually everything's pretty much of a blur by now, so i guess it'll be kinda short.

chem2 and econs2 on tues: AND I THOUGHT IT WAS ON MONDAY!!! hahahhaha. soooooo...i stressed myself out, mugging really really hard till sat afternoon, which would be when i decided to check the timings out. hahahahah...like...anti-climatic. anyways, the chem paper was ok, especially compared with the rest of the other 'killer' papers. then, i 'cubicle-ised' myself in the library with jolyn to do some last last minute econs mugging. no choice lah, i would read newspaper, eat eat, sleep, etc...if i went home to mug. econs essays were kinda unusual/atypical, the kind that you wouldn't think they would ask as an essay question. left me feeling unsure of my answers, in the sense that i THINK i'm writing the correct stuff, but i'm not too sure of what the EXACT answers are like. *crosses fingers and hopes for the best*

econs1 on weds: darn...didn't finish case study again coz i was rambling on and on too long for the other parts. hopefully, the marks would sorta balance out. hahahha. and i hope i answered the question in the correct way. man....i can't stand humanities...there's a plethora of uncertainty in it.

chem1 on fri: yup....which just finished an hour ago. I THOUGHT I WAS AN IDIOT WHILE DOING IT. i mean, who gets stuck on qn2?!?!?! ya..me. hahaha. and the people around me were all turning the page, while i continued to reason with myself about that stupid question. DREADFUL SINKING FEELING. isn't mcq suppose to be easy? hahahah

okok....couldn't take it anymore...went to watch ep14. hahahah...only 2 more eps left, then i'll watch buliang, piliMIT and other shows...AFTER As...

argh....and apparantly, feilunhai is coming to s'pore on sunday or something...like...HAIZ. bad timing bad timing. BIO the next day leh....cannot play play one! (hahahha...liberal use of singlish here!) lucky gerielle--all her papers are over. NO FAIR.

meanwhile....5 more loooooooooooooooong days!!!

feel awful man...awful. shouldn't have pretended not to notice it man. suffering severe guilty conscience now....haiz.

making-sweetness 6 down....and another (urgh) 6 more to go...
Sunday, November 9, 2008 making-sweetness Back to the top

yes yes, i'm suppose to fill in some form or send something or write another (gasp!) 500 word supplementary essay. but you know what...I DON'T CARE! can't i just waste my time doing something that i enjoy? haiz....

it's hard enough to NOT type youtube/tudou into that little box you find at the top of the screen....the call of the 2 unwatched episodes is strong, but my willpower is stronger! hahahaha....jane will not give in to such temptations....

ok....shall begin the mandatory 'A level ranting'. it's such an opportune time to give those grouses a brief airing....

gp1&2 on monday: didn't study much for it, as usual. at least the essay topic was crappable (btw, i did the migration one which i guess at least 10% of the student population in s'pore would do) though i think i spent too much time on planning, not enough on checking. hahaha...almost 40 min planning time is a tad overboard ba...hahahah. compre was on history, which i have relegated to the back of my mind after sec 2, ie history is history for me. lucky dudes who take history man....

now to hope that the angmoh guy marking my paper in the middle of a blustering cold winters night doesn't hate my handwriting and feels like giving me good marks. =) gp IS subjective man...

math1 on tuesday: ok lah.....THANK GOD FOR HELPING ME TO KNOW HOW TO SOLVE THE QUESTIONS!!! i guess they felt that the 2007 paper was too dumbed down, so they upped the antic. for the record, saying that it's hard doesn't mean that i don't know how to do it, CONTRARY TO WHAT MY PARENTS THINK.

bio2 on wednesday: ah yes...THE SUBJECT TO BE FEARED. =( spastic paper. luckily i did the essay first soooooo....i have at least 20 marks. (hopefully. crosses fingers and hopes for the best.) lets just say that the examiners' report would probably start with "On the whole, this was a poorly attempted paper....." and be peppered with phrases like "Many were unable to..." and "Very few students could...." . argh....that means i've gotta mug really really hard for the mcq and application papers.....eeps.

chem3 on thursday: I SHOULD HAVE DONE 4 INSTEAD OF 2!!!! other than that, it was generally fine. i wouldn't be an ass (like some other people) and say that it was 'chicken backside' or 'easy', but it wasn't too bad. maybe coz i was (inevitably) comparing it with that horrible bio paper the previous day.

math2 on friday: THANK GOD FOR HELPING ME TO SOLVE THE QUESTIONS, AGAIN! it's one of those papers that are easy, only IF you know how to approach the questions. wasted a lot of time writing and crossing out things, only to end up using the gc to solve the problems. hahahahahaha....

so now....it's down to chem2 econs2 econs1 chem1 bio3 and bio1. then....FREEDOM!!!! in the meantime, i shall try to fit the supplementary essay writing thingy somewhere into my mugging schedule. maybe i'll do it on tuesday night since i would have already mugged for the case study on the next day.

AND ONTO OTHER GROUSES!!!! namely the bad bad BAD timing of certain events i would like to go to.

1. FOOD SAFARI! 14-16 nov, 2008 at suntec convention hall
there's apparantly '5 stations of excitement', of which only THE COOK OUT and SWEET TEMPTATIONS interest me. hahahaha...the former refers to all the gourmet food and the latter refers to -what else- desserts! now...if it was just 1 WEEK LATER, you know where i'll be. hahahahha....but NOOOOOOOO. those organisers ah...haiz. i'll be mugging bio apps during that time man....jane not happy.

2. KOREA FESTIVAL!
just because it's OVER doesn't mean that i can't rant about it.....BAD TIMING. all those poor Os and As people all can't go for it lor...haiz. the fiesta thingy was last weekend and the concert was on the 4th or something, either way, I HAD TO MUG. =( they had bboy, korean food and pretty big names in k-pop lor...like...HAIZZZZZZ

AND MY LAST GROUSE! starhub took reduced the free 'show all the channels thingy' from 1 month to a couple of days. boo-hoo.....=( oh well, that's one mugging distraction removed. the only good thing is that i've got kbs world now and they're showing hong gil dong! (ie another show i wanted to watch but never got around to doing so...hahah)

oh wellsssss...done

making-sweetness D-DAY!!!!
Sunday, November 2, 2008 making-sweetness Back to the top

okok folks....it's here. TOMORROW IS THE START OF THE DREADED A LEVELS!!!!

*cue to start running around frantically like a headless chicken with hands up in the air*

don't think i'll be coming here in the near future...it's gp gp mathpaper1 BIOPAPER2 chempaper3 mathpaper2 for the rest of the week. it's quite obvious as to which i fear the most....

but for now....haiz. sleep sleep to clear brain for tomorrow.

it's worst than the Os man...just as everyone else says. i'm sooooooo not gonna rest on my laurels and just because i smoked my way once, doesn't mean i'm capable of doing it again....
