i attempted to search stuff for that #$^*&%$% econs homework the past few days, but i don't feel like doing it anymore. don't even talk about gp. at least can use the com for econs, but gp....don't think i'm going to pick it up. screw hol hw lah!

this was after the choir carolling thing. while waiting for parents to pick us up. all the mg/ex-mg gals on the floor, the non-mg people on the chair.

MISS HANDBELLS ALOT!!!!! was soooooooooooo tempted to play with the bells that day i went to the concert with tiffany! erm...it was taken in the middle of nowhere in jurong east entertainment centre. (or whatever it's called)

i haven't done econs and gp. DIE LAH. school's starting in 5 days time? argh.....i look at the gp and get put off by the never-ending chunks of words. econs needs some research. either way, i don't want to do it. how typical of a science student. i did the bare minimum of 3q per topic for math. hahahaha....i'm sooooooooooo not mugger lor!

so.....i just played my holidays away. hahaha...the opposite of what the school tells us to do.

25th: don't remember what i did. probably sleep and slack around. maybe i did some homework. don't really know.

26th: went shopping with my family in raffles city coz have to find that solid coloured (not black or white), plain (no fancy patterns), non-tshirt material, formal looking shirt/blouse for choir. and there were post-christmas sales (and crowds) everywhere! my sis bought a nice blouse! i like the black one, she can have the brown one. the black one makes me look slimmer. =) ate lunch there too.

went for some handbell concert at the old parliament house (now called the art house or something...) with tiffany after that! quite nice, but we're definitely more pro than them. then again, that group was only formed this year, so it's already not too bad. they only got their bells in october or something, but it's the new, not so-nice-sounding bells. AND LAODA AND AHMA PANGSEH-ED US! hahaha....nevermind. the second half was all singing peranakan inspired songs, ie singing stuff we don't understand coz we don't understand malay. the small kids were really cute tho, and the songs were nice and catchy.

walked around by myself for about 1hr plus after that, trying to find that elusive shirt/blouse. bought pressies 4 gerielle and addy too! eventually ended up in marina square, where i met the strings people for dinner at changing appetites. the cheese on chicken (or whatever it was called...) was nice! watched a video wf made too! spam pics lah!

27th: went out with addy and gerielle! had lunch in pepper lunch express, where addy spammed the pepper into her lunch. then went to k! bring addy see new places ba... was sooooooooooooo ex that day, feel ripped off man! gerielle agrees with me lor! but we were laughing like crazy at the dumb eng mvs....a good change from emo chinese ones. pics are with addy though.

went searching for my shirt/blouse again after dinner. found this nice and cheap blue one! even if it doesn't 'pass', i'll still wear it normally and stuff.

i don't like christmas

that probably caught your eye, didn't it? i probably sound like scrooge from that very famous charles dickens novel and you're probably wondering why a Christian like me would say i don't like christmas.

shall finish my statement. I don't like christmas which has lost its true meaning and turned into this 'consumerism' craze thing.

Christmas has turned into 'the season of shopping, eating, drinking and being merry.' everyone's rushing around, stressing out over what to get for their family, boss, friends, cleaning aunty, neighbour, random person they barely know who gave them a present, etc. sigh. this is SO NOT the reason we celebrate christmas. how many people actually know (and care) about the fact that Christmas was meant to celebrate the birth of Christ who came to earth to die for our sins? not many people, sadly.

now, christmas is all about santa claus, reindeers, presents, eating turkey, boozing, partying, etc. sigh. how sad. where in the bible does it tell you to celebrate the birth of christ like that? sigh....so sad.

oh well, actually that's just because i don't know what present to buy...hahaha. anyway blesssed christmas eveyone! updates about my veryvery busy christmas weekend next time.

played badminton with my family this morning. good for losing weight i guess, as compared to sitting around and sleeping in. random comment from my sis: "playing with jane is very funny, i don't know why."

i like it when my dad's home for lunch and he has the car, coz it usually means eating good food. hahaha. that's why i had yummy (and quite cheap) northern indian food on tues and nice nice dim sum on weds. it's quite near my house too, like about 2 bus stops away...

coz people keep asking about the stupid atcl, shall just write a few lines here. it was ok, i guess. borrowed my sis's long dress, obviously too long for me coz she's taller than me. didn't get frozen fingers since i already warmed up beforehand and the examiner was nice and switched the air-con off. but, my nerves failed me (especially for mozart....ARGH) so still slipped abit. hope can pass lah.........don't waste my pia-ing piano time.....

went carolling with the church choir yesterday. UBER FUN! hahaha... went to rev chan, eld phua and eld foong's house. imagine about 60 people squeezing into the living and dining room of those old hbd flats. quite imba. was raining when we set off, but allister became the unbrella man and kinda shielded everyone going up the bus. i feel gu-niang. anyways, ate alot yesterday coz all the hosts prepared alot of food! have turkey, log cake, porridge, cheng tng (dunno how to sp...), etc. we would go to 1 house, sing nice nice carols, play games, sing a bit more, have sharing, then EAT. later going to eat alot too for that Carols Alive thing. haiz.....gonna get fatter...nevermind.

ok...fine. maybe my hair's not THAT bad. i've given up attempting to convince people that it sucks. random statement. shall continue updating about yf camp before i forget. i stopped on tues i think....

Weds: came back to find a wonderful letter from my shepherd was written on coffee paper. ie, paper that was soaked in coffee and left to dry before things were written on it. haha....i like coffee but this is still weird. clarissa got a 'coffee paper' too! turns out that our shepherds were good friends who made the paper together. just found that amusing.

another thought-provoking main message and video sermon. then discussion. SOOOOOOOOOOO RELIEVED. coz my group members started talking and sharing....not so many awkward silences. but we kind of dragged a bit, ate into lunchtime. (bad pun....don't remind me...) waited veryveryveryvery long for the bus to come and bring us to the children's home coz the bus went to the wrong place (apparantly...) talked to mag for that same period of time.

THE KIDS THERE ARE SOOOOO CUTE! (i'm not being paedophilish ok!) but it's kinda sad that they come from pretty bad family backgrounds and stuff. we presented a song item and played this bingo game to mix around with the kids. kena bullied by my 'junior', he keep coming up to me and ask me to sign for him though he's suppose to ask the kids in the home. -_-'' suppose to make this 3D wooden model thingy with the kids after that. makes me really grateful that i didn't have to take D&T in secondary school coz i would have FAILED MISERABLY. suppose to help this small girl out as she makes it, but ended up asking all sorts of random people to help coz 1. i really have ZERO experience with this thingy. 2. i'm not really interested in this kinda things. 3. SHE wasn't that interested in it either (she told me that she was dying for an afternoon nap, so she gladly let me take over). hahaha...both of us are quite alike in this way.

i think this thing against making wooden models runs in family. my sis said she was hopeless at it too. (hi-5 joanne! i know you're gonna read this anyway....)

went back to church to wash up and have dinner. then was the looooooong night message which i amazingly didn't fall asleep for. luckily i stayed awake, or else wouldn't have learnt so much things.

Thurs: good main message by rev heng and evangelism workshop by rev jack sin. no discussion though....(phew) coz the message was too long. BUT it was very useful and insightful. =) went out to buy music book (stupid mozart sonata..) in the afternoon so missed the outing. SIAN LAH. PEOPLE GO AND PLAY GAMES, I GO HOME PLAY PIANO.

came back at night for night message. 1st person i met was hongrui and the 1st thing he called me was bookworm. -_-'' that evolved into MUGGER (-___-) despite my protests. i'm not mugger. i'm not mugger. i'm not mugger. NEVERMIND. helped my group with a bit of kitchen duty. last night message. not bad...didn't fall asleep. phew. found the last part about Israel going back to their old ways barely 12 years after the revival kinda sad. such a pity...

Fri: officially my last day of camp. mag didn't come. =( i sound like i'm repeating myself, but the main message and evangelism workshop were really very good, even if it kinda overshot the time so no discussion. rededicated myself to God. about time too. nice nice lunch of spagetti after that. =)

games in the afternoon. very very fun! first was the adaptation of 老鹰捉小鸡, quite fun seeing the sisters fighting it out (obviously not me and my sis lah. this pair of sisters more sporty one...) next was the adaptation of the caterpillar game. collected as much water as we could without resorting to storing water in our mouths (unlike some other group) then was a time-filler game. last was the very tyco human mastermind. more like 'decipher tim loh's mind' (tim loh is the game master) guessed correctly in 2 tries in an uber tyco way. got all wet in the last game, which is trying to fill a holey pipe with water to get the balls in the pipe. not as easy as it sounds coz the pipe is about my height, fatter than me and some of the holes are almost palm-size. managed to do it in the end as a group, but was still soaking wet. luckily brought an extra change of clothes and could borrow soap and stuff from someone else.

nice nice dinner! lurved the mango pudding, aglio olio, baked rice and potato wedges! imba nice.=) the rest of the people were 'bullying' wx, asking her those IQ question thingys and tricking her. poor thing. coz she kept falling for them. sharing time after this.=) really glad that people have learnt alot from camp. also found out my shepherd was tim foong. haha....clarissa's was jasper, aka the coffee man. video show of the camp stuff after sharing was chao funny=). too bad couldn't stay over that night, coz it's no-lights-out night, ie the night where people go mad, don't sleep and do crazy stuff.

very long liao. shall update about my week another time. going for carolling later, the 2nd day of 5 consecutive days i have to sing. *crosses fingers and hopes sore throat doesn't get worse..*

can't take it any more....shall rant about my hair first. IT'S WEIRD! AND SOOOOOOOOO NOT ME! =( it's too...straight. just doesn't look like me. went to some place my mum's friend recommended and became a guinea pig for my mum to see how good the hairdresser's skills were. ok....so maybe i didn't specify so precisely what type of look i wanted. NEVERMIND. i have 2 more weeks for the hair to grow before school reopens. i shall be optimistic and think of good things about the haircut. erm....it's neater and the fringe isn't covering half my face. er...it's not so heavy and hot. erm....i don't need to waste so much shampoo on it and wait for such a long time for it to dry. hair, please grow FASTER... now i understand the pains of people who get screwed up haircuts... oh! thought of 1 more good point: the fringe looks ok. as compared to the rest of the hair.....ARGH....

ok...looooooooong post ahead. about yf camp. was kinda part-time for the games part and i didn't stay over again. but went for all the messages and they were good! =) especially the main message and the video sermons. leading is quite stressful, but got to know people in my group better, especially the girls. there were lots more gals than guys this year, like 2:1 ratio. shall go by the day ba...

Mon: went earlier coz i'm in camp comm. the sun was out so we sunned the mattresses in the field to get rid of the smell and stuff. apparantly someone in junior camp peed on 1 of the mattresses. i think it's the one they didn't use. hahahaha....i hope so...but then again i'm not staying over so it doesn't affect me much.

then it was waiting for people to come....obviously started late coz quite a number of people were late. after camp briefing and cleaning up the dorms, we played ice-breakers! quite fun! we were all ganging up on some people for the clip game which was really fun. haha...then it was lunchtime. my group did the cleaning up, so it kinda ate into the group time. oh wells....anyways, cleaning up with nerissa, clarissa (finally...correct sp..) and naomi was funny! got to know these 3 better! =)

group time was obviously quite stressful for me....like must think of what to do and say, group objectives and stuff beforehand. kinda felt like i kena thrown into the deep end with a flimsy float when i'm still unable to swim. thank God i managed to pull through....phew! my group was kinda quiet and i half wanted to zi high to liven up the atmosphere. ARGH....now the yf very young (as in lotsa young people...) so i'm considered one of the older ones liao. at 17 only lah. in the past, the older ones referred to the people in uni who were all above 20... bo pian lah....

moving on........games time again, and the games weren't very memorable coz i can't remember what i played, other than the abit boliao number game. shall just fast-forward to night message by rev james tan on nehemiah. ok...i admit i've never been a particular fan of his messages, i like people who give in point-form and stuff. i don't mind his varying-the-volume-to-make-it-interesting style, but i wish he would speak louder for the soft times. luckily they gave him a mike/mic (dunno sp...) the next few messages or else jane's mind would have wandered far far away. anyways...this night's message was on neh 1 and how God moved him to wanna rebuild the wall and about prayer. i think that's what it was on...i think i was wandering off....oops.

Tues: went for main message by rev philip heng. yup, we must know where we came from, which will decide where we're going and what we're gonna do to get there. didn't fall asleep....hahaha...but then again those who can fall asleep during his messages are imba. the video sermon was also very thought-provoking. like questioning if you are really saved, with the evidence of your salvation being the things you do.

then the (dreaded...for me lah...) group discussion. soooooooooo quiet! like no one wants to say anything. the coming up with questions part also not as easy as it sounds....luckily people started talking more...at the end. haiz...nevermind. went for piano lesson in the afternoon, played the imba nice steinway again =) this time i took a pic of it. =) was pouring lyk crazy on the way back home....kinda bored in the car so i took pics of the rain and gonna-be-flooded-if-the-rain-continues roads. stayed home to prac piano. SIAN.

shall update more later.....very long liao. on a side note....chao happy my church fren bestie,magdalene, came back frm aussie!! she's changed ALOT and (luckily) for the better too! =) =) not so ah lian anymore....totally miss her.........talked to her alot during camp and stuff, just like last time. oh yes! addy's back too! sooooooooo happy! =)=)=) all my besties overseas coming back! =)

shall attempt to do some hw. didn't do any last night, or for the past week for that matter. i haven't even gotten the bio (hard copy....) and i see people who've FINISHED it. haha...see...this proves i'm not mugger.

my sis wants me to update about yf camp, but it's 10.50+ now. feel like sleeping earlier today so i wouldn't fall asleep during sermon and stuff. oh yes. and so that i can do homework now. there's only half a month left and i haven't progressed further in my homework-doing. i've been slacking all holiday watching shows, playing piano, talking on msn....hahaha.



gonna cut my hair tomorrow so the examiner wouldn't niao me about my hair. sure wouldn't exceed the playing time ba....i mean, i took 32 min in total even when i overestimated the timings. that means i can turn the pages slowly and take my time between songs and stuff.



i realised that i've played/heard more mozart sonatas than i thought i knew. i've either heard or played the sonatas in the mozart sonata book i bought a few days ago. hahahaha. thanks to mep, i guess.

haha...my sis! tt's chisin behind. during clean up ba... well, is this considered blogging about camp, joanne? but cute right! hahahahahahhahaha...

this is soooooooooooo annoying. NOT MORE HOLIDAY HOMEWORK?!?!?!?!?! i barely started on math. luckily i decided to attempt to do more math since i wouldn't be at home next week (YF camp!). i was wondering why the back of my graphic calculator was wet. turned out that the batteries leaked out their chemical whatdoyoucallthem stuff. anyway i was plain shocked and half-grossed out. set to work straight away to clean it, throw the gross batteries away and stuff. absolutely relieved that it still can work. PHEW! I'M NOT GONNA SPEND CLOSE TO $200 FOR A NEW ONE. WASTE MY MONEY.

woke up rather early the past 3 days. just when it's the perfect time to sleep in until goodness knows how late in the day. cool, rainy, dark days just make me feel sleepy...don't know why. and it's already december! still haven't done much homework, can envision myself chionging hw in the last few weeks of holidays. AGAIN.

anyway, played for the senior's prom on tues. not that anyone was really listening. i know i wouldn't be listening next year, prom is the perfect time to cam-whore! especially with everyone looking so chio/shuai and it's one of the last time you might see them. the senior class people looked quite cool, but didn't have spare hands to take pics of them. (sorry cheryl!) some of them even formed a band, quite cool to see a different side of them.

went for the boat trip cum yf camp leaders training thing yesterday. got quite wet coz it was raining for almost the whole day. had quite a fruitful time though and learnt alot of new things. still, i don't think i'm leader material. there are way too many things i don't know and i don't think i'm a really obedient follower and stuff. nevermind, if it's God's will for me to lead, then i'll just follow it.

went to the piano studio today. forgot to take a pic of the steinway. IMBA NICE PIANO. too bad the room is uber cold and i'm not very used to the hardness of the keys there. must practise more. oh! the best discovery i made there is that THERE IS CANDY EMPIRE IN MILLENIA WALK! completely random, but nevermind.

ok....better practise piano now. then start clearing some homework. then sleep earlier. my bio clock is really screwed and i think i'm getting panda eyes, which is bad.
