it's friday! whee!
quite sleepy now after yet another long week. wow....i'm surprised i survived 3 WHOLE WEEKS of work! (especially given the fact that i'm allergic to work...hahaha....)
actually, i must admit that i probably feel sleepy coz i've been watching shows until uber late at night. not coz of work. hahahhaha...that's more like my "style". picked up watching WGM from where i left off previously (on top of my reminiscing the old episodes with the 'lettuce couple' in it. LOVE KIMHYUNJOONG AND HWANGBO!!!! hahahhahaha).
anyways, went for the jts at the function room today to
eat, waste time, make sure they don't spoil anything, get free entertainment help my sis out in being a good host! nice to see all of them again! fine....more like MOST of them. hahahaha. those in my sisters year who don't know me keep thinking i'm the YOUNGER sister...HAIZ...nevermind...at least it means i still look young! =D hahahahha...
ohhhh...and i'm ATTEMPTING to complete that 100 books to read thing--went to the library and borrowed a couple of books to add to that list. ooo...and i saw steph! wah....haven't seen her in a long long long long time since dunno when. hahahah....reminds me of mghandbells04! =D

ahhhh...the past few days have been really hot. i'm DYING in the sweltering heat every time i
rush and half run walk to work. luckily it rained today and (very very thankfully) NOT while i was driving or walking to the bus-stop. i know this sounds pathetic, but i don't want it to rain coz the road will be wet and slippery (a DEADLY combination especially with my current driving skills...), plus i don't know which knob to turn for the headlights and windscreen wipers. GO ON, LAUGH ALL YOU WANT....jane+driving=FAIL.
ok....back to my song arranging! i've finished arranging the other song yesterday. NOT BAD...given my tendencies to be uber inefficient and procrastinate.

no more space...
finally, FRIDAY. it is seriously WAY TOO HOT here....urgh. hate the feeling of sweat sticking on my skin. as usual, i blame the weather and high humidity here.
anyways, did calling up all week (discounting the 3hrs i got paid for stoning on wednesday). some people are really very ___ and i totally don't like the person who got fired. she did the calling up before me and didn't record it down, so i kept getting scolded and questioned by the jobseekers. HELP. luckily i'm down to my last round of calling....AT LONG LONG LAST.
due to space constraints, i've been relegated to a small corner on the sofa in the pantry, pulling wires from everywhere and balancing the laptop and phone precariously on the back-rest and arm-rest respectively. one may ask how i did work in such a position. simple! just sit cross-legged facing the back of the sofa. at least it doesn't hurt my elbow as much as resting it on the table. XD

4th day....
wah...i didn't realise that working (yes, even if it's only for half a day) really SAPS ONE'S ENERGY. i'm usually too tired to do anything for the OTHER half of the day. my poor poor cello-playing has been woefully neglected. =( i seriously HATE that awful trucking song man....i'm cramping up whenever i play the semiquavers-to-triplets thingy. DARN. I HATE THAT PART.
anyway, i should strive to learn malay and hokkien. luckily i don't think i'll really need to use it next time. I KENA NIAOED BY SOME UNCLE FOR NOT KNOWING HOKKIEN! it's become a reflex action for me to say "wa buay hiao tia, buay hiao kong" when people around me start spouting hokkien. however, this just prompted the uncle to wax lyrical (in hokkien, no less) about how EVERYONE in singapore should know some hokkien. THANKS VERY MUCH UNCLE, I GET THE HINT. at least i could understand a little of what he said.
so far....as seen by my msn nick, it's kinda sian. at least i've sort of learnt more things than cheryl--i can do counter, screening and calling up. and have i mentioned the weird people who seem to go there everyday just to use the computer there? haiz....there's alot of weird people. but there are also alot of very sad cases lah.
like this aunty i did screening for today. she obviously has a back problem similar to my paternal grandma, but she insists that she can carry heavy stuff. AND SHE DOESN'T KNOW ABOUT FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE LAH! she just seems...so sad.
anyways, i'm so grateful that cheryl swopped working hours with me today! then i wouldn't have to rush like mad to go for the strings concert and i can go and buy the stuff that i need to do the group board. have i ever mentioned how much i LOVE daiso now? well...THAT PLACE RAWKS!!! =D strings concert wasn't half bad, simple symphony was nice! i pity their having to play suk though...i remember it to be quite a challenging piece (especially for NOOBS like me XP) saw my batchmates and other strings juniors! heheheheh....some of them JUST realised that my sis is in strings too lah. like shoukee, who refused to believe it at first.
hahahah...my cello juniors are nice and cute people! wayne's friends made him a super funny poster which says "don't smoke!!" (he gave up on suk btw, i would be close to throwing in the towel myself! XD) and wangzhuo smoked the hard parts, AS USUAL. hahahaha....i totally niaoed him today. hahahhahahahah
but it's nice seeing them all again! oh yah...and the other juniors and batchmates! =D

jane has begun her SLACK job. ok...it's TECHNICALLY slack since i only work in the afternoons and it largely depends on how many people feel motivated enough to find jobs. luckily it was RAINING today--a major deterrent for job-seekers. hahahhaha....i didn't wanna get out of the house either, but too bad!
just observed and did counter work today! but i'm not too sure where i'll eventually work in....though i think it's something about data entry and stuff...
and i realised why those desperate job-seekers just can't seem to seem to find jobs--they lack proper training BIG TIME and some of them are downright weird with all sorts of unreasonable demands. should give some solutions to these problems to reduce the unemployment rate (ECONS ECONS....HAHAHAHHAHA...that subject is coming back to haunt me...)

crossing into the 'land of the employed'
finally, i'm not half-asleep or too sian to blog. =) or have to wake up early tomorrow. as usual, i shall recount in chronological order.
friday: after sleeping at a s** time (ie super early in the morning) the previous day, i miraculously managed to get up at 8+ to go for the seminar in church about preaching/sharing God's word to people. ah....i desperately need such advice man! my sharings are almost always haphazard and either serve as a cure for insomnia or they confuse people BIG TIME. (hence, i keep asking "do you understand? do you get it?) but....since my parents didn't want to go for the workshop thingy after that, we went off for lunch! (and i caught 40winks in the car...)
then then then...WENT TO CHERYL'S HOUSE FOR 75 GATHERING! ok...was suppose to go to sentosa and cycle lah...but the sun was beating down cruelly on the inhabitants of the world, so...i hid indoors. hahahhahaha...TYPICAL. i'm gonna get fat from inactivity =( 852ed there and joined caro, cheryl, hh, thomas and scott (ie the fellow non-sentosa peeps), played some billiard (which is WORST THAN POOL) and badminton and waited for the arrival of the pizza! the sentosa people came too! like jolyn, monkey, suat, veron, wy, jn and kelvin. and yl came later after her nice movie! of course, it was an eat-and-talk-cock session.
AND HAVE I MENTIONED THAT CHERYL'S HOUSE IS NICE?????? her room totally rawks k! it's on a high level, has a balcony, nice and big space and IT'S HER OWN ROOM! like...NICEEEEEEEE! =D
saturday: sucky day. rushed like mad to do everything and still forgot to do/bring stuff. THANK GOD FOR CHOCOLATES and their natural endorphin-releasing properties. i mean it ok.
sunday: church. and catch up on sleep day.
today: went for job interview with cheryl at jtc! seems kinda like an ok job and the best thing is that I ONLY NEED TO WORK IN THE AFTERNOON! =D job sharing lah, she takes the mornings, i do the afternoons. suits SLACKER JANE to the core! it kinda seemed like a formality to me though, but nevermind!
thennn...went to imm to eat and shop! cheryl went CRAZY buying stuff at esprit; jane just tried stuff on, hated the cut of the pants/shirts and didn't buy anything. i DID buy a nice black jacket in imm though (coz there was a 30% discount!) and we went to swensons for lunch coz of their one-for-one lunch promotion! nice (but extremely small) crayfish spaghetti thing!
OH....AND DAISO SELLS THAT CUTE THING THAT JOLYN DANGLES ON HER HP!!!! but not as kawaii as jolyn's one...so maybe s'pore gets japanese rejects? hahahhaha

can't contain my excitement k! MGHANDBELLS09 GOT A GOLD!!!! very very good in view of the high standards this year! =D and coz no one got that highly coveted gwh. soooooooooooooooo...BIG SMILES ALL AROUND OK! =D was DYING to shout this to the world since syf was over, but my sis was using the com...hehehehe
ANYWAY, shall dao yesterday's mildly interesting events (merely consisting of getting stuck in a jam and buying a pillow for my dad) and move on to THE BIG BIG DAY
TODAY YESTERDAY! (past 12am mah...) handbells syf day!!! as very obviously seen, i prefer handbells to strings a gazillion, billion, million n-llion times more. hahahhaha...since the juniors know of our plans and stuff, i can just blog freely about it! we are LOVELY seniors k and i guess tiff and sandra will agree! =D
wait wait, i'll say what THE GRAND PLAN '09 IS FIRST! stage 1: SENIORS FLOOD TAGBOARD WITH ENCOURAGEMENT! stage 2: WE ALL PRAY FOR AND WITH THEM! *for without God, man's plans will amount to nothing* stage 3: MAKE OUR NICE 'JIAYOU BOTTLES' WITH what else but OIL AND THE 'GO MG HANDBELLS' SIGNS! stage 4: GIVE THEM THE STUFF, SUPPORT THEM THERE AND GIVE THEM FLOWERS N SWEETS! =D obviously, the BRILLIANT person who thought of this was TIFFANY the *cough cough* SANE! i just went high with her and sandra helped once she quit her awfully boring job. =D
back to my day--met sandra in the morning at the hc bus-stop and took 156 to far east flora to buy FLOWERS FOR THEM! kinda got off at the wrong stop though, so we walked and walked up the road (luckily the weather was nice and cool) to far east flora. bought those nice geraniums (i THINK that's what they are called) in bright ORANGE AND PINK colours! nice cheery flowers! love them better than roses. cut off the ends to shorten them and went to the macritche bus stop to take a bus to kap!
THEN I FOUND OUT THAT I LOST MY EZLINK CARD. the nice orange one summore =( apparently, post-offices don't sell ez-link cards, only exchange them. sooooo...bought another one at bukit batok mrt station. -_-"
went to eat eat at kap, bought the chocs from cold storage, then WALKED LIKE MAD to the ngee ann poly bus stop to give tiffany the flowers so she can surprise the juniors later! hahahaha....SHE AND HER PINK COMMIE SHIRT! can spot her opposite the road from so far away lah! and i POSITIVELY DETEST MURPHY TO THE CORE. spastic murphy's law--we waited FOREVER for the 61 to bukit batok so we ended up missing mg's turn BY THAT LITTLE BIT! we already rushed like mad by running to the train, getting off early and taking a cab lah! but....we should have just taken a cab from ngee ann to rp directly. WHY IS THAT SCH SO FAR AWAY??!?!?!?!?
nevermind....mrs aw said they played well, but there were better times during practices. mingled around with those cute cute juniors, CAM-WHORING and stuff. ooo....hope they all upload the pics! =) listened to the other schools too...OOOOOOOOO...I MISS RINGING HANDBELLS! i did think that most of the schools were really not bad leh! a few messy parts here and there, but generally GOOD! i really want to hear pl and (of course) mg leh! too bad we came late and they were before the interval =(
ahhh...then came the NAIL-BITING MOMENT--the announcement of the results. can see that they were all really nervous, clutching each other's hands and stuff. CHERRY (the bao. aka mghandbell'09 pres) WAS UNDER EMOTIONAL TURMOIL TODAY LAH! her brain is quite randomly complex...hahahha...
then...they announced pl's silver. SHOCKED CAN! silence for that millisecond,followed by awkward applause. poor them...can tell that they are super duper disappointed. the next few schools had silver too. AND IT WAS MG
. gold. we all SCREAMED like mad lah!!!!!!!!! coz of all that pressure from all the silvers before, plus i think they really deserved it. and the choir just before them played "fantasy in g minor" aka "yunjing's nightmare" too. so coincidental. oh....sc and rg got gold too, no gwh at all amongst the handbell choirs. SHIOK AH! ONE OF THE 3 SCHOOLS WITH GOLD! cherry was super overwhelmed by her emotions lah, started off the "crying with joy chain"!
cedar was absolutely annoyed lah, kept spamming the judges with questions. but, who can blame them? i would be so upset and disappointed if i were in their shoes. at least there's a judge who can actually RING A BELL! he knew the techniques, parts of the bells, etc. like FINALLY. a judge who understands. he was just reiterating whatever mrs aw said regarding martellatos, starting positions, how to ring, so on and so forth. SO, BACK AT YOU ALL ROUGH RINGERS WHO ONLY MOVE AROUND WITH SCANT REGARD TO PROPER RINGING TECHNIQUES! the other judges, well...it's the normal NO HANDBELL BACKGROUND SO CAN'T COMMENT MUCH kind.
suddenly, the jubilant mood was dampened by the loss of the brown bag with baos and cherry's phone. cherry was in the LOW part of her emotional rollercoaster ride. seriously must hear how she described her feelings for today, HILARIOUS MAN! luckily she found it! it was taken by the cedar girls by mistake and mrs aw went there to get it back for cherry!
ahahahaha....and i followed the coach home (with tiffany)! of course man! then don't need to use public transport and waste money! sat around and gave out the presents, CAM-WHORED and talked rubbish! oh...and ate bao. hahahha. MRS AW'S SON IS SO TALL NOW. this is so unfair. period.
and i really, officially MISS HANDBELLS LIKE MAD. it's the best thing ever, the thing i officially have ZERO regrets about. I WILL NEVER REGRET JOINING MG AND JOINING HANDBELLS. i get so high just THINKING about the symposium in osaka next year (CAN EAT AND EAT AND EAT NICE FOOD IN JAPAN!!!!!!) and the one in 3 years time in EDINBURGH! woots! exciting stuff man!
pity i can't say the same about hwachong.
