"The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak". I'm sure many people have heard this saying before, or even said it themselves, especially after they've done something wrong (i.e. yield to 'the flesh'). I'm just kind of amused by the story behind the first time this phrase was ever used! It does strike a chord with some of the difficulties I face in my walk with God too....

It's in Matthew 26 (which I happen to be reading now)...so...do check that out! Anyway, the story is that Jesus went to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray just before he was arrested (& later crucified). He asked his 3 'inner circle' of disciples to pray with Him and went a short distance from them to pray by Himself. I guess the disciples were too tired after dinner (I bet they had FOOD COMA after the last supper!), so Jesus found them all asleep when He came back from praying the first time. And THAT'S when Jesus told the disciples (more like Simon Peter lahhh) to "Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."

Alot of people nowadays use this phrase when they can't resist some food or *gasp* sexual temptation...but it's original usage was abit more...normal? It's resisting the urge to sleep. ESPECIALLY DURING PRAYER. That's quite interesting...since it seems to be speaking to me? Yeahh....I should stop 'meditating' during prayer/sermons/lectures and start paying closer attention.

I mean...sleeping during sermons did KILL someone! Luckily Paul was there lor....read Acts 20:9 if you want to know more. =D

This post (lololol...bad pun bad pun!!!) is dedicated to my 2 wonderful coursemates, ee & sam, as well as the nicest brand of breakfast cereals ever -- POST CEREALS!!! Beats all the other cereals available here hands down...BUT THEY CAN'T BE FOUND HERE. =( Not the nice Post cereals anyway, plus even if they DID have it, it's probably not at a very nice price as well.

I MISS MY BLUEBERRY MORNING, CRANBERRY ALMOND NUT CRUNCH, HONEY BUNCHES OF OATS & ALPHABITS!!!!

Anyway...I'm quite random ba! And it all started randomly when ee tweeted about cocoa pebbles! Asked her what that was....and found out that it's a Post cereal!!! Then sam said something about not knowing what Post cereals are...so....here's a wee introduction to THE BEST CEREALS EVER!

Post cereals is an American brand with a wide variety of cereals catering to kids & adults. I'll start with the cutest one that you can give kids to help them learn their alphabets --ALPHABITS!!!

AlphaBits are the not so healthy alternative to alphabet soup bits but they are WAAAAY tastier! No harm in added incentives to learn your alphabets and spelling properly with nice tasing letters when you're young! Most of the cereal would be the light-ish brown coloured letters, made of 'sweetened oats and corn' BUT they have colourful marshmallow vowels! Those are my favourite part of the cereal! Pity there are more constanants than vowels....AND THEY DON'T DO THE MARSHMALLOW BITS ANYMORE!!! WHYYY??? Actually, must be because they are too sweet, make the kids fat & diabetic. *sobs*

Next up, it's ee's favourite -- Post pebbles! There are soooooooo many flavours, from fruity (reminds me of fruit loops, just in an irregular rock shape, rather than ring shape) ....
to Cocoa (there's ALWAYS chocolate flavoured cereals ok! it's an unspoken rule).......

to Marshmallows!! (So that's where the alphabits marshmallows went to...)
and....CUPCAKE?!?! Must seriously try this one if and when I see it. *intrigued*

I admit...I've never tried them before, so I'm not really sure how they taste like. But ee says they 'are the best cereals ever!' so I shall take her word for it. And if you were wondering, yes....the pebbles IS inspired by the little girl called pebbles in flintstones! Why else would the flintstone family & friends plaster the box of cereals?

Enough of the sweet kiddy cereals and on to the 'healthier' adult cereals. Now that I think about it, they MAY bring in the boring Post cereals like the Bran flakes (urgh!) and Shredded wheat (eww!). Sooo....why can't they import the NICE Post cereals??? Like the Post Selects series! There's yummy stuff like Banana Nut crunch, Maple pecan crunch, plus my beloved Blueberry Morning and Cranberry Almond Crunch! I don't even care if there's extra nuts in there thanks to a particular member of my family who LOVES to pick out EVERY SINGLE NUT from the cereal bowl and put it back into the packet. (You know who you are!!!!!)

While some may argue that the fruit & nut cereals sold here should be nicer coz they have a larger variety of fruits in the cereal, I don't think more fruits would necessarily mean the cereal is nicer. There are some 'fruits' that don't really suit cereals. Like COCONUT STRIPS! Seriously....what are they doing in there????????? Also, there's 2 types of cereals in the Post selects -- the normal cornflakes and the sugar coated ones -- PLUS honey oat clusters as a special bonus! Oooo....Can't really decide which is nicer, cranberries or blueberries. Oh wells....I shall just mix them both and eat it...in my dreams. LOL.

My sister's favourite Post cereal would definitely be the honey bunches of oats, just coz ''there are no nuts!!!'' (quotes my sister) Yeah yeah....but my mum doesn't buy it as often since she finds it a tad too sweet.
I didn't realise there were lots of other flavours of honey bunches of oats (like the cinnamon one and the peaches one), but the 3 shown above are the most common ones that can be found in most supermarkets in singapore. Of course, our family always chooses the STRAWBERRY one! I like how they mix the oat bunches in with the cornflakes instead of just having one or the other (like the cereals here. lousy.) Of course, there are many other Post cereals, but here are my favourites! Try them if you can get them...they'll put a smile to anyone's face at the start of the day! ^^

Yes yes...I spent yet another uneventful & not happening V-day this year. Not that I'm complaining! The most happening thing would be my computer starting to fail me ba! Ok...that sucks even more than not having a valentines date to go for. Lolololol!


Stilll, it was super amusing, esp since the 'problem' isn't mine. Kekeke...guys had better choose their targets properly man. Otherwise, even the most romantic plans will backfire. xP

This is definitely one of the most happening Chinese New Year celebrations EVER. Totally unproductive period which involved giving self excuses to play play play! Anyways, shall sum up my happening CNY, just like how I used to write event recounts as blog posts!

除夕夜: STEAMBOAT PART 1 CUM CELL! As per other events my flatmate & I organise, it kinda took a life of it's own...growing in size & (possibly) randomness....till we had 18 people! That's like double the size of cell group the following week. WOW. Either way, it was alot of work (cutting, making msg & peanut free soupbase plus cleaning up after) but alot of fun!!! And people in cell group are too kind and generous....so there was enough leftover food for the next few days. WOW. Very touched by the retreat sharing too! ^^ Especially by the new Christians! =) Had an amusing 'afterparty' after that too....xD

初一: STEAMBOAT PART 2! That's how much leftovers we had...enough to feed 10 more people the next day. It was a pretty much year 2 + partick people gathering...and we still couldn't finish the food. LOL.

初二: Normal day with anatomy presentation & worship practice. Totally ABNORMAL night with insane 9hour guitar hero/raving rabbits pia-ing session....SIAO LIAO! *Reminds self not to give in to temptation so easily!!!!!!*

初三: Obviously was DYING for most of the day, thus slept for most of it. Woke up just in time to cook EVEN MORE of our leftovers and the rendang for a random potluck dinner! Ate lots of good food there too...hehehehe....and left JUST BEFORE washing up time for ANOTHER bai-nian thing. HAPPENING LAH! But, as the ex-exco (lol) member, must show the juniors support for their bai-nian cum potluck dinner lah! Gawked at takashi kaneshiro (lololol) in red cliff 1 & 2! Nice show with great action sequences and the occasional LOL moments!

AND I TOOK A BREAK. lol...Sign of old age man....can't play for so many days in a row.

Went for random lunches throughout the week which weren't really CNY related...then had the 'official' singsoc CNY dinner yesterday! FUN!!! (but my whole day was kind of gone tho. xP) Made brownies AND decorated them in the afternoon, then changed and went for dinner! Food was not too bad but I only got to k 3 songs =( Camwhored a wee bit though, the results of which can be seen on fb. LOL....

Soo....TADAH! My happening but angbao-less CNY.

Hahaha....took me a while to find this song, so I'll post it for no reason. Teehee...old song lah, but I like!

Chameleons are sooooooooo cute!!! Errrrrr...at least the one in Tangled is and he's called Pascal! If only real chameleons were that cute and can survive the Glaswegian coldness, I'd want one as a pet. LOL. Yeps, I've watched Tangled (like FINALLY) and...Rapunzel is officially my favourite Disney princess!!! I prefer the feistier Disney princesses like her and Mulan, but after seeing Rapunzel work the frying pan, I'm totally sold. lol....relax people, I'm not gonna use my trusty non-stick pan to knock people unconscious (only to have to save them again).

Does that make me seem very tomboy? No right...nothing wrong with liking to play console games and preferring the cool Disney princesses who do not need to be saved by the prince/male lead ba! Don't know whether to feel happy or worried that people don't realise I'm the only female at my dissection table (not counted the lady lying there) after 2 whole weeks. Actually, it's more like -___-

Well....I'm not exactly the most feminine, fluffy unicorns kind of girl, but I'm really quite gu-niang what! I don't like to get wet or dirty (hence this whole 'i hate the rain' thing), I take out my umbrella at the slightest hint of rain, Swoon over the slightest romantic act shown in movies (& cry during all the remotely touching scenes too), Fangirl....LOL. Maybe it's the way I interact with people that makes me seem more like a 兄弟than a girl. Or....I'm hanging out with too many 姐妹type of guys. JOKING PEOPLE!!! I'm very sure it's the former case. LOL...

Such a random post...lols. Anyways, 祝大家新年快乐，万事如意，在学业或工作中能‘兔’飞猛进！Not bad not bad, I kinda thought of something that has a rabbit in it. ^^
