i'm like DYING now coz i've finished all available episodes of YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL. it's the FIRST show that i like ALL the main guys in the show....coz they are like so COOL and NICE.
i bet all the OTHER FANGIRLS in the world agree wholeheartedly! =D wish they were doing better in terms of ratings though, i blame the (not very nice to watch though TOP is in it) show IRIS. hahahha....i've got good taste ok! not like SOME PEOPLE who get hyper in lectures coz of dr cotton and the teddy bear lecturer, i.e. coughsamcoughcough! HAHAHAHAHA...SAM IS SO FUN TO TEASE CAN! hahahahah...the making out = MAKING PANCAKES thing was THE BEST MAN! hahahha....jul is fun to tease too! coz he is so DESPERATE to avoid e2 (and maybe jac & raach now)! IT IS SO HILARIOUSSSSSS! his PHAIL sleep patterns are super funny too! it's hard to see when he's AWAKE esp since his eyes are PUNY! and matt's imitation of jul when he phoned him (at about 2PM MIND YOU) was SIDE-SPLITTINGLY HILARIOUS. sounded like he answered the phone in his dream and mumbled his way through.....BWAHAHAHAHAH
i want a dwegi-tokki ok! i heard that it can be bought online for 24usd or something. and i wish i knew someone like KANG SHINWOO (played by jung yong hwa) !!!! he is like sooooooooo good can! *SWOONS*

anyhows, i will post up a FOOD PORN entry of my meal at MICHAEL CAINES! the starter and dessert were LURVE!!! and pheasant doesn't taste as gamey as i thought. haggis (at least the one i tried for breakfast) actually tastes pretty good too man (considering what they put into that thing!)!!!
but right now, i'm too tired to do anything. gonna sleep early and wake up early to do pbl/coursework. life here really RAWKS man!

ohmy..i've gone from a '1 post every other day' blogger to a 'blog at most once a month' blogger. HAHAHHAHA....i guess that's a small price to pay for LIVING LIFE. it's been 2 months and i just feel like i've lived here for years and have known the people around me here forever.
it's such a funny feeling really, all that deja vu.
anyway, i'll just write something so it doesn't look as though i died here or something. i mean, this IS the west of scotland AND knife-attack capital of europe, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.
sooooo...within 2 months, i have been to more concerts than in 2 years in jc, gone hiking up hills with nicer scenary than one can EVER find in singapore, gone shopping and eating out far too often than i should (MICHAEL CAINES ON SAT!!!! 2 MICHELIN STARS MAN!!! OHMYOHMY...HUNGRY AGAIN LIAO!!!! i can't help but say it...), WATCHED FIREWORKS on guy fawkes, go to at least 1 other person's house per week to cook together, watched movies.....
basically all sorts of things OTHER than studying. SOO...I'VE GOT LOTSA PICS STORED IN MY CAM. (among the pics of diagrams of hearts, abdomens, lungs, etc stored inside coz i'm too stingy to pay for the cost of photocopying things XD)
and people owe me pics too! haiz! okok, i'll upload once i'm done with this back pain coursework that is giving me head pains as well.
ohyaaaaaaaaaaa...AND I'VE CUT UP CADAVERS!!! macabre stuff but FUN! got a wee old lady who was really very frail. that poor dear! AND...I'VE VISITED THE HOSPITAL and tried chatting to patients (both real and acting ones). fun stuff! somehow, i can imagine doing this for the rest of my life. gp visit next tues! hopefully i can understand them...=S

WHEEEE...fun day today! Since I'm waiting for fb to upload my pics, i will just blog about my 'wee trip' to edinburgh today. After chionging part of my pbl last night, I woke up at 7-ish today so that I'll AT LEAST be ON-TIME for the bus. My tendency to be tardy is no well-kept secret, i guess. AND I WASN'T THE LAST OK!
sooooooooo...about an hour bus ride later (when we OOOed and AHHHHed over grazing farm animals), we were in EDINBURGH! and we were brought around by 2 edinburgh singsoc people: jensen and may. raffles family mannnnn...(our own raffles-family medic was too busy doing pbl to go. i think)
aiyah...just go see my pics on fb. in summary, i went to arthur's seat, malaysian society's HARI RAYA LUNCH, royal mile (with childhood museum and chocolate shot stopovers), edinburgh castle, princes street (watched magic show to pass time), look look see see. then...dinner at rumours!!!! =D i'll update about the details (and put pics up for non-fb users) later AFTER finishing my pbl and washing up. maybe tomorrow? hehehehe

If you don't know by now, I can get pretty annoyed at my flatmates. I'll get lung cancer if the person next door wouldn't stop smoking and food poisoning if the 2 people from the land of guinness (and their friend who is PERPETUALLY HERE at all times of the day even if she doesn't stay here) don't do their dishes and leave them lying EVERYWHERE. Luckily the one across my room is saner (and unfortunately on the verge of getting exploited coz she can't stand seeing the dirt).
The people around here are also pretty inconsiderate, causing noise pollution in the dead of the night. Like even if I play music on my com, it's so soft that you can't hear it once you pass the 'halfway mark' in my room. Luckily I can sleep through noisy nights, THE POOR GIRL OPPOSITE ME CAN'T. poor poor her from a quiet little town on the outskirts of glasgow.
Speak of the devil man! ok...sort of. Here I am blogging about noise pollution, there they are screaming at the top of their voices. Especially that doesn't-live-here-but-is-forever-here-anyway person. HELPPPPP
Haiz, I will continue suffering in silence since talking to them about it doesn't make a difference anyway. And they don't know about this blog anyway. At least I'm done with ranting, so it's back to PBL! bleh....

wow WOW wow. I've finally gotten off my lazy bum and started to post something since I came to UK. Ok, maybe it's coz I've FINALLY (at very very very long last) received my 'gold for 100k' in that HORRIBLY ADDICTIVE game. no prizes for guessing the said game.
ANYWAY....it just feels like I've been living here forever, when I've only been living here for slightly more than 3weeks. It just seems..right. There are even times when I get a sense of deja vu....which is quite peculiar. I find it weird too.
And as usual, mum's always right. One DOES eventually pick up some cooking skills when they are living alone and I'm proud to say that what I cook is EDIBLE. Heck! MY SALMON WAS PRAISED TODAY MAN! Fine fine fine, I KNOW that you're thinking that ANYONE can pan-fry salmon, but WHATEVER LOR! It just goes to show that my cooking skills aren't too embarrassingly poor even though I didn't take home econs lessons. (haiz...mep ah mep)
The fact that I haven't touched my (not so) secret stash of instant noodle says alot. I either eat rice, potatoes (baked or in soup) or japanese soba for dinner. Or the odd naan when I was in a rush to go for cell. GOOD RIGHT! (please endure my self-praise....) The best time of the week is when I go to RUMOURS KOPITIAM for my dose of singaporean/malaysian food or when I pop by Hannah's house (FELLOW BP-ian living in the next hostel!!!!) to eat and cook with her, Chloe (her taiwanese flatmate), Sisi (her PRC flatmate) and/or Warni (her malaysian flatmate). If you're asking why I don't cook with my flatmates(the 3 brits, 1 portuguese), it's coz they either have frozen SOMETHING, sausage and bacon or ready-to-eat microwavables. Not exactly my idea of a good dinner. Very unhealthy too.
Today's dinner was good too! Went to David's house (1 of the 2 guy singaporean medics) with Hannah, Samantha (the malaysian in my med group) and the other singaporeans--wenlin(nus exchange student), matthew (yr 1 psychology guy) and julius (the currently very ill other medic). good food man! even though it was kinda simple with loads of frozen junk food. hehehe...at least I don't have to do much washing up!
AND...here's my
list of things I should cook more often!1. SALMON (with rice)
2. scrambled eggs and tomato (with rice or bread)
3. carrot, corn and meat soup with egg stirred in (with soba)
4. Chicken/pork rice with steamed vegetables. (put vegetables into plate and steam with rice, then add meat slices onto almost cooked rice)
and my
list of things to avoid...1. roast vegetables and potatoes (dunno when they are done)
2. stirfry meat and veg together (dunno when to put what in)
3. cook too much soup at 1 go (otherwise it'll be soup for the next few days...)
Ah yes, after spending 3 paragraphs on food, i'll move on to SCHOOL. Very sian to NOT be spoonfed. hahahahaha...PBL!!!! Unfortuantely for me, i can BARELY understand what some of the scots are talking about when they speak. SIAN LEH, i was the scribe last week, so I've got to chair this week. HELP. And what's with lectures being called PLENARIES? Labs are called Free Resource Sessions(FRS). Like...SHEESH. But the people aren't too bad, they're really quite nice and stuff! It's just my timetable that would be the death of me. hehehehe. Oh, and the LONG DISTANCE TO SCHOOL. Every single day I have to go to school would involve a 12min run (or 20min walk) to the nearest underground, then a 7min ride on the train, topped off by a 5min walk to the med school (or 10 min if I have to go to the hospital LT) PLUS IT COSTS ABOUT 1.20QUID FOR 1 WAY!!!!! ewwwww
Have i mentioned that my bank sucks? I will run out of cash before they open my account man! And it's almost 3 weeks since I applied for it! GRRRRRRRR....
Oh yes, CHURCH. It's a really major part of my Sundays! Since I would slack in the morning anyway, I go to St Georges Tron church at 11 for the morning service coz of their REALLY GOOD sermons, then go for the english service at GCCC in the afternoon for a more practical sermon and the fellowship! Works fine for me, other than the fact that we (Hannah and I) have been forced to walk 2 underground stations coz they are ALWAYS evacuating the station at the time we wanna board the train. SO ANNOYING.
Geez...this looks pretty long. I'll end here and go wash my toilet. hehehehehe. It's SUPPOSEDLY a bank holiday tomorrow, BUT i still have school. PBL!!!!!! and the bank is still opened tomorrow, or more accurately speaking, LLOYDS is opened tomorrow. But, oh wells...

i'm extremely happy with today's packing progress. I'VE PACKED EVERYTHING! expt my notes and random stuff... all my clothes and shoes are in the suitcase(s). now all that's left are my bags, SPASCTICALLY THICK BOOKS AND HC NOTES, random stationary/toiletries, etc....
HAIZ. did i mention that i HATE packing those things?

my room is in such a horrid mess with EVERYTHING lying around somewhere OUTSIDE of my suitcase. yes. OUTSIDE. i've only gotten round to packing my notes (hc bio and chem notes ftw!), certs and important documents into neat files. oh....and looking up my tax filing thing and warranty registrations.
ahhhhh...i absolutely LOVE my wonderful friends who have been FLOODING me with stuff now (and not giving them to me at the airport). *BIG HUG PPLE!* urgh.....i'm dreading tomorrow, when i actually start to put stuff into my suitcase. at least my dad's going with me, so that's 30+30+7+7 kg worth of stuff i can bring. plus the glasgow seniors i'm checking in with....MUAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAA....MORE BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE!
oh, and my hall seriously looks neat, clean and NEW. it should! since it cost a pretty penny and i didn't want an ensuite lor! just....no other rooms. those people must think that they can RIP OFF foreign students coz they wouldn't have a choice. but it's really far from school and all. =( must wake up earlier, can't dash out of the house at the 11th hour. =(
haven't really had the time to blog, but i'm really really glad to meet up with SO MANY PEOPLE and visit many different places before i leave. =D and see jj lin. ^^ (i'm still KICKING myself for not getting a pic or autograph) soooooooooo, to round it all up, i've met up with gerielle, ahdian, addy, yp, farrica, sixuan, baoxia (by accident on the 77), nat, cheryl, caro, chuan, jolyn, suat, yl, veron, nic, wenyan, monkey, nandhu, adrian, hh, jn, the rest of the 75ers, monica, sandra, tiff, jinhui (66!!!!), guanhui, tianyi, huifen, wanfang, some other strings pple....
and....i've been to....smu, nus, sam, ion, hc, mg, vivo, orchard central, taka, ADRIAN'S IMBA NEWTON HOUSE (i'm still in love with his house), up and down orchard, marina, esplanade, cityhall area, bugis...
woah.
8/9 months of slacking really flew by man! i guess the saying that time FLIES when you're having fun really rings true (at least for me....yeah)
ooo....i realise that i didn't write my flight details here. (not like pple come here anw. i haven't updated it for too long): 9th sept, 1.40am, T1. ek405 to glasgow, transit at dubai.
well....do i miss this place? maybe, maybe not. if i'm sian enough of packing, i MIGHT blog this, in my lj of course.
